RecoServ
PROXIMITY WEEE COLLECTION · MILAN · 2026

Your citizens' WEEE
is sitting in their drawers.

RecoServ collects it
in their courtyard.

66% of Italians keep electronic devices at home without disposing of them. Not out of laziness, but for lack of proximity. RecoServ solves the problem at the root: it brings WEEE collection where people already live.

The problem

273,000 tonnes a year.

Of Italian WEEE that never reaches a civic amenity site.

Italy puts around 900,000 tonnes of electrical equipment on the market every year. Less than a third is correctly collected at end of life.

The traditional channel — the municipal civic amenity site — works for large appliances. It does not work for the 3–5 small devices each household accumulates every year: outdated phones, broken chargers, bulbs, small appliances.

The barrier is not awareness. It is logistic distance: the civic amenity site requires a car, fixed hours, a dedicated trip. No one goes there for an old charger.

The solution

Proximity. Not awareness campaigns.

RecoServ brings a WEEE collection point directly into the building's courtyard. No appointments, no paperwork, no trips. The resident comes down with their old smartphone and the problem is solved.

01
THE MUNICIPALITY ACTIVATES THE SERVICE

The municipality or consortium signs the contract with RecoServ. Zero hardware investment: everything is managed by RecoServ.

02
THE BIN ARRIVES IN THE BUILDING

SB-WEEE is installed in the courtyard or entrance hall. Residents drop off freely, no appointment, no ID, at any time.

03
THE DATA REACHES THE MUNICIPALITY

The CDP platform automatically generates all regulatory reporting: MUD, FIR, RENTRI, CDC WEEE. Zero admin burden on the municipality.

More WEEE intercepted = more CDC WEEE fees credited to the municipality. RecoServ turns a compliance cost into a revenue stream.

The model

The municipality pays for the service.

CDC WEEE fees cover the cost.

RecoServ sells a service to municipalities: proximity WEEE collection, regulatory compliance included, automatic reporting.

The economics are self-funding: every kg of WEEE correctly intercepted generates a CDC WEEE fee proportional to its category. More tonnes collected = more fees credited to the municipality.

RecoServ is not a cost for the public administration. It is an EPR revenue generator with compliance included.

CDC WEEE projection for a 10,000-dwelling municipality: ~€14,600/year additional · 16.7% rate observed in pilots (2 days' notice).
